Bio of Young Thee

Young Thee (Theo Townsend) was born and raised in Nashville, TN. Coming up in a place historically known around the world as "The Music City", Thee was heavily influenced by his environment. His grandfather was well known around the city as a piano player that would play in local churches. There was a piano in Thee's grandmothers house that he taught himself to play by ear; he quickly fell in love with the art of melodic creation at an early age.

Like many children around the neighborhood, Thee participated heavily in sports. A standout baseball and football player, is what ultimately led him to playing two years for the University of Alabama. It was there where he also realized his passion for music. This passion became just as much or even more important than playing football. People still talk to this day of how he would never sleep, because it was class, practice, and music each and every day. Whether it was making beats or recording, you could tell the talent was on a rise.

Being in Alabama and playing football really was a great stepping stone because it was there where he created music for the teams highlight films. The most popular one's, "The Tide's Comin'", and "We Ready", were featured on youtube and both combined are well over 200,000 views! This created a great following from Bama fans alone, in which his first show during "A-Day" weekend (Spring Scrimmage game), he did more than sell it out; people were turned away from the show reaching capacity.

Overall, this young artist has a passion for what he does. This lyricist has a way with creativity that in his words, he loves to "paint pictures" using his unique style. Being a songwriter , writing is something he takes very serious and looks at as an art. He's had six mixtapes, three official with the latest one titled "Canvas of Life". If you are one that seeks substance while still getting that uptempo feel, you should definitely give this artist a listen.
